American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten visited Cleveland Tuesday to show support for Issue 68.

National Teachers Union President Randi Weingarten has joined the movement to gain support for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s levy, which is known as Issue 68 on the upcoming November ballot.

The American Federation of Teachers and the Cleveland Teachers Union also joined CMSD CEO Eric Gordon at the Tuesday press conference at Max S. Hayes High School “to lay out the huge stakes on Issue 68 as election day draws closer.”

"We need this levy, we need to continue this progress," Weingarten said. "We need to make sure we reward the collaboration and the trust that is happening in Cleveland.

"That's why we're here, to fight for [Issue] 68."
