As part of her appearance at Max S. Hayes High School this week, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten publicly denounced the opposition to the Issue 68 campaign as "charlatans" intent on hiding their identity and spending lots of money to hurt Cleveland students.

"How dare there be a group of dark-money people who will not even tell you who they are," Weingarten asked. "They don't even have the respect for this community to tell you who they are."

Weingarten later expressed the need for Issue 68 and its impact.

"We need this levy! We need to continue this progress," she said.
